Social Media
If you read my guide on how to start a profitable YouTube Channel, you’ll notice that I referenced Social Signals as a way to boost your Channel’s visibility.
To top off on the knowledge on that article, get up to 5 of your competitors and check which platforms they are most active on, then get active in those.
Let’s say I’m in the digital marketing niche, this means that I’m competing with a Giant like Neil Patel.

The guy owns a YouTube Channel and he’s mostly active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and he’s got a ton of followers.
So as a competitor, I’d love to steal his audience, so I’m also going to be promoting my content on the platform.
As for Facebook, the best promotion strategy is joining Facebook Groups which houses members who’d be a great fit for your audience.
You can find Facebook Groups by typing your video’s keyword(s) in the Facebook search, here are more ways you can promote your YouTube Channel Easily.
On Instagram, the best 2 ways to promote your YouTube Channel is by posting your content on your stories and Reels.
Forums
Forums are a great way for you to boost your YouTube Channel’s visibility and they allow users to post content for free.
If you’re reading this article from Nigeria, then Nairaland is the best forum where you can promote your YouTube Channel for free.
You basically head over to Nairaland.com and sign up for an account, then you’ll be able to post content on their different categories.
Do make sure that you’re posting your content in the category fit for your audience for better promotion.

Then for users all over the world, Quora is the best QnA forum, users on the platform basically ask questions and other users answer it.
You can use the search box on the platform and search for your content’s keyword(s), Quora will now pull up all question asked on the platform with your keyword(s) included.
As a smart ass, what you should do is create content that answers the question asked or gives a solution to the problem.
Then come back and write a concise answer leaving your YouTube video link, Quora automatically embeds your video, so the users can watch it without leaving the platform.
Pinterest is the biggest photo sharing website in the world with millions of users and it’s a great place for YouTube promotion.
You basically use Canva to create a vertical image (1000 x 1500 pixels), that is attractive and then post it on Pinterest.

Before that, you should have a Pinterest Business account, so that you can track your pin analytics and stuff.
It so easy to use Pinterest, you just upload the Image, add a title, add a description and then add your YouTube Content’s link.
Once people see your pin and click on it, they’ll be redirected to your YouTube video, getting you free views and possibly Subscribers.
YouTube SEO
You may be wondering why I put YouTube SEO in 3rd place instead of at the number 1 position.
Well 2 years ago, the case could have been different. YouTube SEO is no longer the Hot Cake as it used to be,
I know most of of you who’ll read this article, will be like ‘am wrong’ and stuff, but I actually know what I’m saying.
I’m not saying YouTube SEO no longer works, read in-between the line brother! and hear me out.

Now, to do YouTube SEO – You have to write catchy Titles, Description, add tags to your video, add an attractive thumbnail.
If your YouTube Channel isn’t relatively new, then you’d agree with me that you’ve researched a Keyword before and applied the YouTube SEO steps but still your Content didn’t rank or get any views.
YouTube now uses a set of new metrics to determine what shows up in the search, metrics like Subscriber count, Words mentioned in video, channel relevance etc.
Subscriber Count: I know everybody says that their is no relation between Subscriber count and Rankings, fact is there is.
You know that how your video performs in the first 24 hours of upload is quite important to it’s long term performance.
In essence, if 100 people see your video in the first 24 hours and 90 out of them watched the video from start to finish, don’t you think that YouTube will start recommending the video in search and feed.
Now, for someone who has 20 Subscribers, once you upload your content, I can assure you that only 2 people will see it in the first 24 hours.
Another Example – You may have uploaded a video and waited for it to rank for many weeks still it didn’t, you now searched for your keyword and you discover that a trash video is ranking.
You’ll be asking yourself, why the hell is this video in the Top 3 results and my own video is nowhere to be found.
If you then check the Subscriber stats of the content that ranked, you’ll see they have more Subscribers than you do.
Words Mentioned in the Video: Have you ever searched something on YouTube, maybe a question, but the content that shows up didn’t even optimize for that keyword.
Well, it happens a lot, YouTube now uses algorithms to convert the words you speak into text – we all know the Auto Generated Captions feature.
So make sure you mention the keywords you’re targeting in your video, using timestamps will help you breakdown the video.
Channel Relevance: Your YouTube Channel’s relevance on the topic you’re trying to rank for is the most important YouTube ranking factor.
If you’re just starting out focus on a micro-niche, then expand when you get bigger.
Let’s say you created a YouTube Channel in the Marketing niche, you can choose to start with Facebook Marketing.
You hunt or keywords and create like 10 videos on Facebook Marketing, this shows YouTube that you may be an expert in that field, so whenever someone searches for Facebook Marketing, your Channel will show up.
A Good Example of a Channel using this strategy is Lester Diaz and Ben Heath, hoth guys teach how to grow and market on Facebook.
Whenever you search for Facebook Marketing or most keywords relating to Facebook, the both of them most show up and you know why.
Blog
Another free way to promote your YouTube Channel is to start a blog then repurpose your videos into content and vice versa.
See, My Free Guide on How to Start a WordPress Website for almost free!
You can Embed your YouTube videos on your articles and get more views as people discover your articles.

Managing both a Website and YouTube channel can be quite tedious, if you’re alone like me, I kinda quit my YouTube Channel for a while to focus on my blog.
You can hire content creators on Fiverr, Upwork or ProBlogger and they’ll help you create content on your website and you pay them.
All you have to do is give them the keyword(s) and Word count you want and they’ll do the job for you.
It’s advised that you review your competitors and see whether they have websites where they promote content and if yes, then this strategy is for you.
Conclusion
The strategies in this article will surely help you promote your YouTube Channel without costing you a dime.
