As a WordPress user, it can be difficult to manage small WordPress hacks.
Taking a look at the address bar of your browser you will see an image. This image is called a favicon. It can be a logo as its main purpose is to represent a website.
This article is aimed at enlightening the user on how to change a WordPress favicon.
Changing a Favicon Image.
The first step to change is to create an image that you wish to change it to. But if in the case you already have an image all you would do is resize it either by 16 by 16 pixels or 32 by 32 pixels.
Then on the dashboard click on the “Media” and “add new”. On that page, you will see an option “Drop files to upload” or “select from files”.
When you are done with editing the image click on “drop files to upload” but if in the case you aren’t done with editing, click on select from files to get the image from the media files on the desktop.
Once you are done uploading the image; Go to Appearance and click on the “customize” button.
On the customize section you can find options that will allow you to upload or change an old favicon via the “site settings”. This depends on your WordPress theme.

Using the Genius WordPress theme, click on the site settings and then on “site icon” where you will be provided with two options: “remove” or “change image”.
Clicking on “change image “redirects to a page where you can upload your image from the media library.
So for your chance to be effective click on the Publish button after you must have been done editing the image.
Most users do make the error of not resizing their image when trying to upload a Favicon Image. So by default, the image you are uploading should either be 16 by 16 pixels or 32 by 32 pixels. Any other image bigger than this size might give you a problem while uploading the new favicon.
