If you think recording videos for YouTube is hard, wait till you sit down in Infront of your Laptop and start editing.
In this article, we’re going to talk about How Much time YouTubers spend editing s well as why and how they could edit faster.
How Much Time Do YouTubers Spend Editing?
How long it takes to edit a YouTube Video depends on the number of footage as well as the complexity of elements you want to display such as transitions, voiceovers, etc. On average, YouTubers spend 45 minutes editing 1 minute of footage.
This is why most YouTube Creators Hire Professional Video Editors and pay them to edit their videos.

Editing your videos could take less time if you’re just doing basic stuff like cutting and adding transitions. If you’re editing vlogging videos, it typically takes less time compared to the time you’ll need to edit a Music Video, Tutorial, or Explainer Video.
How do you Edit YouTube Videos Much Faster?
Established YouTube Creators who edit the videos themselves have it easier as Experience and familiarity with your video editing software will save you a lot of time.
However, if you’re relatively new to editing YouTube Videos, it’ll do you a world of good to create a Storyboard of how you want your video to look and what you’d be saying at that point.
I usually do this on paper and it helps me edit faster because starting, I found that I was wasting time deliberating on whether to do this or that or to use this or that.
You should script your videos more like a Movie and add how each scene will be performed by the lead actor (that’s you!).
Let’s say I’m creating a YouTube Video where I’m reviewing this site, here’s what my script will be like.
[Intro] - Talk about What The Video is about…
[ Scene: Talking Head Only]
Hello and Welcome to My YouTube Channel, Valerian Here and today, we're going to review my Website ebukaval.com where I publish helpful articles on Blogging, WordPress, YouTube, and How to Make Money Online.
[ Scene: Start with Talking Head, then right when I say ebukaval.com show talking head at the bottom right in a circle and scroll through my website.]
[ Scene: Right when I start Mentioning my site's Categories, display the best articles under the categories as you scroll down slowly]
This is just a sample, you can use this same format for yourself and confirm that it works.
Another Time Wasted when it comes to Video Editing is using Complicated Software meant for Professionals.
In my case, I still have to learn how to use Adobe Premiere Pro but I’ve already mastered Movavi Video Editor as it’s meant for beginners.
Conclusion
In general, I’d say that the more you edit YouTube Videos, the faster you get and before you know it, you might even make enough revenue to start outsourcing your video editing.
