In my article on does WordPress use HTML? We established that it does use HTML but its Core software is based on PHP and so are WordPress Plugins.

How Many Plugins Should a WordPress Website Have?
In my opinion, a WordPress Website should have as many plugins as it requires to function well and provide a good user experience to its visitors.
My Site, ebukaval.com, is brought to life by 25 WordPress Plugins, so I’d say that the average number of plugins on WordPress Websites is 30 – 70.
Even though Speed is a part of the Page Experience Ranking Factor on Google Search, you shouldn’t focus on how a plugin affects your page loading speed but on how you can make your website better access to your audience.
You can use WP Rocket or Ezoic Leap to remove Unused CSS if any plugin(s) on your site is adding that and it’s impacting your Pagespeed.
How do I find the Best WordPress Plugins?
There are about 60,000 plugins in the WordPress Repository currently, and that should be your number 1 spot for finding the best WordPress Plugins for whatever you want to do.
The WordPress Repository is the best source of free WordPress Plugins, but for Premium plugins, I recommend downloading them from Themeforest.

Themeforest is mainly used to download premium WordPress themes for a cheap price, I get most of the plugins I use on this my site from there.
