Ever wondered whether you can get paid to type? I’m here to assure you that it’s very possible and relatively easy for you to get paid for typing words.
And In this article, I’ll review the various platforms that’ll help you do just that in 2022.
Before we continue, I want you to acknowledge that unlike other tutorials on this website which I declare as side hustles, you can make a living by typing or should I say writing.
Although it generally depends on your writing skills, what you know, and your level of experience.
Some of the websites which I’m going to review in this article only pay people living in the United States and with that I urge you to get FastestVPN’s Unlimited Subscription, it personally helps me to make more money online.
Without further ado, here are the top sites that’ll pay you good money to type or write:
Medium.com
If you go through several articles that talk about how you can get paid to type, they don’t always talk about medium.com which is right about the best platform for that.
Medium is one of the most popular websites in the world with millions of readers who mostly read about marketing stuff, news, coding, Graphics design, and generally anything you can think of.
To get started, you need to head over to medium.com and then click on the Become a Writer button, you can signup using Twitter, Facebook, or your Google Account.
Once you’re signed up, you can now start writing content.

My best tip for you is to write content on topics you’re an expert on, or you can choose to review platforms you enjoy working with online.
For example, if I have a WordPress Website where I sell courses, I could write an article on the topic of WordPress Plugins that helped me make $1000/wk selling Courses.
Note that you should write content based on your experience and not made-up stuff because you need to share proof.
In my case, I’ll add each plugin as an H2 Header and then describe how they helped me along my Journey. People love Case Studies and you should capitalize on that.
To qualify for the Medium Partner Program which pays you for your content, you’ll need to have a minimum of 100 followers and I was able to achieve that with one viral article.
The more claps your content gets, the more people Medium Promotes it to, so spend time and curate exquisite content.
Medium pays its writers via Payoneer and their payment program isn’t available for all Countries, you have to check their policy page for more details.
Amazon Mechanical Turk
Amazon Mechanical Turk is a crowdsourcing marketplace that was launched in 2005.
The platform makes it easier for individuals and various businesses to outsource jobs to highly skilled workers who can perform the job virtually.

How this platform works is that businesses signup (otherwise known as requesters) and create tasks that need to be completed and post them on the MTurk Marketplace, workers who want to earn money and are interested in the tasks pick them up and complete them, then get paid.
In this case, Companies can outsource Typing Jobs, Proofreading Jobs, Transcription Jobs, etc and you complete them for cash.
Accutran Global
This platform is made up of transcription specialists, which entails voice writing, real-time captioning, scoping, etc.
Ever since 2002, The Accutran Global Platform has Been delivering transcription-related services to thousands of clients who are looking to reduce overhead.

How this platform works is pretty simple. Clients deliver media and document files via Accutran Global’s secure client portal and then add information about the format they want the transcription to be made.
Workers (people like you and I) pick up the transcription gigs and then deliver.
The platform might even offer you a Contract if your work if their client(s) was pretty much satisfied with your job and you can work for flexible hours.
How much you can earn from this platform depends on the size of the media file for transcription and the Client set fee.
Fiverr
Fiverr has grown to become one of the best Freelance Marketplaces over the past couple of years.
Businesses and Brands turn to Fiverr to outsource skilled personnel for jobs like Logo Design, Video Editing, Graphics Design, and many more.
The best part is that anyone can sign up for Fiverr and sell their skills which in this case should be writing.

You should head over to fiverr.com and then signup with your Email Address, then create a writing gig and charge your potential clients per word. You can also create a Transcription Gig and make money from that.
The one tip that I use to get more clients is to check out Fiverr sellers who have made decent income from the same gig I want to create, then create a sales page better than theirs and charge a little bit less.
The lowest amount you’ll earn per gig on Fiverr is $5 and the best part is that you can set your price as high as you want.
MicroWorkers
MicroWorkers is another Crowdsourcing platform, it’s similar to MTurk reviewed earlier in this article.
On the MicroWorkers website, you’ll see that the platform currently has over 3.1 Million workers who have completed 99 Million Tasks.

How this platform works is Clients create Campaigns on Microworkers-TTV and then workers who are signed up take up the Campaign and deliver the required results, then make their money.
Among the type of Campaigns that their clients create are Typing Jobs which may include Transcription, translation, data entry, etc.
How much you’ll make on MicroWorkers depends on the wages set by the Client who you delivered your skills and it varies most of the time.
Rev
Rev is one of the best platforms that’ll pay you for typing, you can visit rev.com to get full details of their gigs.
However, they need freelancers who can Transcribe Audio and Video, create English Enclosed Captions, and Globally Translate Subtitles.
Freelancers on rev.com are referred to as Revvers, and on the platform, you get to become a freelancer and work on your terms.

If you visit their homepage, you’ll notice that there are already 70,000+ freelancers who are getting paid to type in gigs like captioning, transcription, or subtitle content.
What I love most about Rev is that you can work from anywhere in the world, you aren’t bound to a contract and you get to choose the jobs that you feel like you want.
For Audio and Video Transcription, Revvers typically make $1.50 per minute, if you do the math, you’ll be making $90 per hour.
English Closed Captions freelancers also make the same amount while freelancers who translate Subtitles globally make anywhere from $5 – $12 per minute, that’s $300 per hour at the very least.
BabbleType
BabbleType is a Transcription platform that is always on the lookout for new transcriptionists and also translators who’ll help them handle their thousands of clients but the platform is super picky.
Before you can join their team, you’ll need a very high degree of language skills, listening ability, etc. Because of this, BabbleType prefers to work regularly with select individuals that meet their requirements.

If you want to know whether you can be accepted, you should go over to their Apply for Work Page and watch the video presentation.
BabbleType generally pays transcriptionists $0.6 per minute on average for audio files transcribed.
