I conducted an experiment to find out if watching a YouTube Video in Incognito Mode increases views and the results are quite frankly unexpected.
In the experiment, I created a new YouTube Channel and uploaded a test video (about 2 minutes), I gave the video a crappy title to make sure that nobody would find the video on YouTube.
I then logged out of the New Channel’s YouTube account and logged into my main account, turned on Incognito, and located the video by pasting its link in YouTube Search.
I watched the Video via Incognito mode about 10 times, it took me about half an hour but once the experiment was completed, I came to the solemn conclusion that answers the question…
Does Watching YouTube Views Incognito Increase Views?
Watching YouTube Videos in Incognito Mode does not increase views and it’s simply because the YouTube Algorithm is very smart, it knows when someone or a tool is trying to manipulate video metrics.
If you read my article on does rewatching a YouTube video counts as a view, you’ll notice that I mention the YouTube Fake Engagements Policy.
The Policy that is put in place to punish creators who use shady means to artificially induce engagements on their channel also punishes creators who promote platforms or tools that create fake engagements (views, comments, likes, etc).
Your YouTube Channel stands the probability of getting banned if you indulge in such acts.
How Can I Increase My YouTube Views?
As a YouTube Creator, you should envision long-term success and if you have the right mindset and you put in the work, you should be able to grow your audience and video views using the following steps:
- Get Recommended Equipment
- Do Keyword Research and Set your Goals for Each Month, Day, or Week.
- Improve your Click Through Rate using Clickbait.
- Use YouTube Growth Tools.
- Promote your Videos as much as possible.
Get Recommended YouTube Equipment
As a YouTube Creator, there are a couple of pieces of equipment you need for Success, without this equipment, you simply can not be able to produce high-quality videos.
I took the liberty of listing every YouTube Equipment vital to YouTube Creators in my article on Beginner YouTube Equipment, you can check it out right now.
Do Keyword Research and set your Goals Each Month
This is what all these successful YouTube Creators do in most niches, they generate a list of keywords and then add it to a spreadsheet and start making videos one by one.
In my case, I use YouTube Auto-suggest and Tubebuddy to find unsaturated topics for my next 100 videos, then I create a Google Docs Spreadsheet and paste in the keywords in a column, then sort them from A – Z.
If I was starting on YouTube today, I’d publish high-quality videos aggressively and my goals would be:
- 90 Videos A Month.
- 2 Shorts per day.
- 1 long-form video per day.
- 1,000 Subscribers.
- 20,000 Video Views.
Improve your Videos Click Through Rate using Clickbait
Recording, editing, and uploading 90 Videos seems like a lot of work but it isn’t as you can repurpose the long-form videos into YouTube Shorts. I’ve seen creators do this and their Channel stats go crazy.
If you upload YouTube Videos and no one clicks on them, you might as well have put in the work in the first place.
Once you upload a video, you should utilize this Clickbait mechanism to ensure that your videos get clicked on and the user stays on it.
Use YouTube Growth Tools
Every YouTube Creator needs Growth Tools to create better content and grow their channel.
And as I’ve written a couple of times, Tubebuddy is the best YouTube Tool that I’ve seen so far. This tool simply helps you tick the video SEO box, find keyword ideas for your next videos, and tell you what keywords your competitors are ranking for.
However, Tubebuddy isn’t the only YouTube Tool that I use to create premium content that attracts Subscribers and Views, I also use:
- InVideo (to Create Intros, Convert Articles to videos, and Edit Recorded Videos if I want to)
- Envato Elements (to get customizable video templates that’ll make my videos stand out).
- Canva Premium (to design clickbait Video Thumbnails).
If you want a full list of all the YouTube Tools that I’ve used to grow my Channel, then check out my article on the Best Tools for YouTube Channel Growth, it’s super informative and helpful to creators.
Promote your Videos as much as Possible
Your potential fans are on other platforms besides YouTube, you can repurpose your content and schedule it to Social Media Platforms using Canva.
You can also link to your videos from Forums where your target audience is mostly on, just make sure that your video is relevant so that it’ll get clicks.
Anyways, you copy my exact Free YouTube Video Promotion Technique that still works.
