Do YouTubers Really Make Money from Old Videos?
If you’re among those YouTube Creators who want to know whether Old Videos can still make you money, then this article is for you.
YouTube has been one of the top platforms that help Creators make money online.
As you may already know, you’ll need to get your Channel to 1000 Subscribers and 4000 Watch hours excluding Shorts and YouTube Ads before you’ll be considered for Monetization.
Do YouTubers Make Money from Old Videos?
The Simple Answer is Yes.
YouTubers can Make Money from Old Videos, only when those videos are still getting views on YouTube.
A single YouTube Videos lifespan can last for up to 10 years, I’ve searched for a term on YouTube and I saw a lot of videos from 10 – 13 years ago popping up and they had hundreds of thousands of views, some were in millions.
Most Creators are of the mindset that YouTube will pay them for Video Views but that is not the case.
YouTube only pays you for ad views, you can learn a lot about this from my article on Do YouTubers get paid if I skip ads? Published earlier.
How can Videos Make you Money on YouTube?
Your videos can make you money on YouTube if you’ve been accepted into the YouTube Partner Program and have Monetization Enabled for your Video(s).
That is not to say that there aren’t a lot of ways to Make Money on YouTube without 1000 Subscribers, I have a well-detailed article on that topic, make sure to read it.
YouTube Videos will make you money from the Ads displayed on Them, here are the several YouTube Ad Formats that are most popular:
- Skippable Video Ads.
- Non-skippable video ads.
- Bumper Ads.
- Overlay Ads.
I talked about these ad Formats in detail in my article that explains whether YouTubers get paid if viewers skip ads.
When these ad formats are displayed and viewers interact with them by watching at least 30 seconds of the ad or clicking on the CTA button or Overlay Banner Ads, that is when YouTube Creator will receive commissions.
Final Thoughts
Making Money on YouTube is becoming harder by the day as a lot of people have started creating content and thus making the platform more competitive.
Your focus should not be to have Monetization Enabled, you need to bud a loyal audience so you can be able to add Non-skippable video ads without any problems or even promote your affiliate offers.
