Can I watch my own YouTube Videos to get views? Well, you could but not really… I’ll explain what I mean in this article.
Starting a YouTube Channel can be quite exhilarating but those first few months when you upload videos, optimize them for SEO, and still don’t get any views can be pretty daunting considering the hours and hours of work and effort you put in.
That is basically why new creators often wonder if they can watch their own YouTube Videos to get views, but here’s the real truth…
Watching your videos whether you’re incognito or not will not increase your YouTube Views and it’s kind of against YouTube’s Fake Engagements Policy in a way.
I can remember those days of getting Zero Engagements on my then Channel, I’d create good content, upload it and hope for views which I’d never get.
One day, I decided to try out an experiment because I had heard from a friend that most of his videos that do well in the long term got views in the first 24 hours.
I decided to try and generate 100 views for a video that I uploaded, I used incognito modes and different browsers but it never worked.
Despite watching the video 150 times, only 2 views were recorded. From that day onwards, I came to terms that watching my own YouTube videos to generate views is simply huge waste of time and data.
Instead, I focused on perfecting my Keyword Research and creating a lot of search-optimized videos, and in no time, I got up to 10,000 Subscribers and 300,000 views.
The bottom line is that the YouTube Algorithm is way smarter than you think, since they put the minimum requirements for monetization at 4000 watch hours, you don’t think that they’d have thought of creators who’d want to cheat their way up by watching their videos?
The most important thing is to focus on Keyword Research and creating better and more engaging videos and once you start growing, the only way is up.
