This question is mostly asked by Bloggers and Publishers who haven’t signed up for Ezoic just yet and might have been rejected, banned or want to move on from AdSense.
To straighten things out, if your website has been banned by Google AdSense, you can as well kiss premium ad Networks like Ezoic Goodbye because you’ll never get approved.
So, to answer your question on whether you can use Ezoic without Adsense…
Can you use Ezoic without AdSense?
Every Publisher can use Ezoic without Google AdSense because the platform doesn’t require a Google AdSense account neither is it owned by Google, it’s only a certified Google Publishing Partner.
I think New Bloggers are misplacing Google AdSense for Google Ad Manager.
And as you may have figured out, you cannot use Ezoic or any other premium ad network without Google Ad Manager as it gives your site access to DFP and The DoubleClick Ad Exchange.
I have an article on this website that talks about Google Ad Manager and how it impacts publishers, make sure to read it as it’ll help you understand what I’m talking about in this article.
What Happens when you signup for Ezoic?
Let’s take a look at the Ezoic Onboarding Process to show you that you don’t need Google AdSense.
After signing up for Ezoic, you need to implement a few things like integrating your website, creating placeholders and implementing their ads.txt file on your site.
Once that is done, the Ezoic Team will now review your website, this takes anywhere between 5-7 days based on your website traffic.
If your approved, you’ll now have to apply for Google Ad Manager (GAM) and this typically takes 2 weeks to get a reply especially if your site is new.
In my research, I found out that the Traffic you get to your website impacts how fast Google Ad Manager reviews and as you know, new websites get very little traffic.
Once Google Approves your Website, Ads will start to display and you’ll start seeing revenue in your Ezoic Dashboard in let’s say 24 – 48 hours.
Final Thoughts
The fact that you can use Ezoic without Google AdSense doesn’t mean that you can’t add your Google AdSense account to Ezoic.
Doing so enables Ezoic to create some sort of auction for the ad spaces on your website and it’s kinda like Ezoic vs AdSense, whichever ad is going to pay you more in terms of CPM wins the spot.
If you have any questions on Ezoic and AdSense, I’d love to answer them, the comments section is always open for all.
